Description : This program offers a fully funded training opportunity at the ICRC headquarters in Geneva for both Swiss and international candidates. Trainees will work for 12 months receiving a monthly salary of €4200
Responsibilities :
Providing legal assistance to : various teams in the legal department
Conducting legal research and reviewing documents related to : International Humanitarian Law
Responsibility:
Supporting the organization of : meetings and events within the department
Drafting reports and monitoring developments in : International Humanitarian Law
Helping legal teams work effectively in : their specific fields
Eligibility :
Open to : all nationalities
Bachelor’s degree in: Law or International Relations
Master’s degree : in Public International Law or equivalent legal studies
Requirement:
- Completion of at : least 20 hours of coursework or moot court participation in International Humanitarian Law
- Knowledge in at least one of the following: Human Rights Law, Refugee Law, Criminal Law, Disarmament Law, Law of Treaties, or Arbitration
- Maximum 1 year of professional experience in : international law post-graduation (or 2 years including unpaid experience)
- Relevant experience in : government or international organizations is a plus
- Proficiency in English plus one additional language among: French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian
- Strong motivation for : humanitarian work
- Excellent legal : research, drafting, analytical, and writing skills
- Ability to : multitask and work efficiently
